Many thoughts on many shows

October 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So I have totally been watching TV, I promise… I am just not glued to my computer anymore. I guess that could be a good thing or a bad thing. I do miss listening to the radio all day and watching so many TV shows but I am also glad to be moving around more and losing weight from simply not being sitting around all day. :) So… here are a few thoughts on some shows I’ve been watching and a few thoughts on other stuff I’m sure you want to read about…

Heroes:

  • I love Peter Petrelli. Honestly, without him, I wouldn’t watch the show.
  • I read that they are going to kill off a Hero this season and I think it’ll be Hiro. It’s supposed to be one of the original heroes and that it’ll affect quite a few people. Makes me kinda sad but Hiro’s been getting pretty darn annoying lately. At least we haven’t had to watch Ando… which kinda makes things better.
  • Claire’s lesbian kiss was weird and they didn’t even address it after it happened. Very very weird. Also probably unnecessary. Anyone else with me on that one? If they are going to develop a gay storyline, they should do it right, not sloppy.
  • Sylar. WELCOME BACK BABY! I love Sylar and I’m happy that he’s having a come back.
  • I think the carnival people are a bit freaky and weird and I’m not sure if I like them yet. That head leader guy seems like a real douche. I don’t know if I think that because I’m supposed to think that or if it’s just something that I’m catching that others don’t agree on. Eh…
  • Can’t wait til tonight’s Halloween episode!

Castle:

  • I stopped watching Castle after the 2nd episode of the season and I don’t even miss it. I do follow Nathan Fillion on Twitter so I guess that makes it OK for me to quit. Sorry Nathan. I loved you on OLTL but Castle is just another boring procedural show.

90210:

  • I haven’t seen a single episode this season nor have I heard anything about any of the episodes. I’m guessing that it’s not that interesting… which doesn’t surprise me since the first season was only so-so.

Bones:

  • Are we ever going to get some Booth and Brennan action? I know that everyone said that Booth would get over his love for Brennan but it doesn’t look like it’s going away. Will it ever go away? Are we ever going to see them together?
  • I LOVED the storyline about the devout muslim who faked an accent. How awesome was that!? Living in a state where religious is pretty much ridiculed, I completely understand why someone would do that. I hate it when people criticize my faith. Who are they to decide what I should believe in? Yay writers of that episode!
  • Annoying screechy girl is back. You know the one, the psychiatrist’s girlfriend. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing but I did have a good laugh when Bones and that girl were going a bit apeshit over the cover of some anthropological magazine. Lovely entertainment.

Criminal Minds:

  • I’m tired of Hotchner. I wish he’d leave the show. Maybe he can go where his ex-wife and kid are? I’d really like that.
  • The girl who plays JJ has lost weight. She looks lovely. I also love the bangs on her.

CSI:NY:

  • I find it very unbelievable when characters on TV are paralyzed and the next day they are walking with a cane. Get real folks. It’s not very believable at allllllllllll… Ugh!
  • I should quit this show because it’s getting pretty lame. Sad!

Gossip Girl:

  • I heard that the show has lost a lot of viewers. It doesn’t surprise me. It’s like Dawson’s Creek. It does well when they are in high school and then when they go to college, it’s totally lame.
  • Blair and Chuck are pretty boring. Blair manipulates Chuck, Chuck manipulates Blair… what else is new?
  • Serena is still lame and retarded. Why do they write her as a complete idiot?
  • I like Hilary Duff’s character. I hope she’s around all season.

Law & Order: SVU:

  • Yay the evil witch DA is gone! I hated her from the moment she arrived. Of course, my husband said that I was supposed to hate her… so I guess I did a good job! :)
  • I would like a few Finn and Munch episodes, please. Give Olivia and Elliott a break please!

Lie to Me:

  • The season has been OK. I could probably quit this show too because it’s not that awesome.
  • Are the two owners of the Lightman group going to hook up? I think they want each other deep deep down inside. Anyone else with me on that one?

Mad Men:

  • Holy smokies! This show is so freaking awesome.
  • I love to hate Don Draper but I also hate to love him! It’s so frustrating!
  • I wish Betty would have slept with that politician guy. It would have been so nice to see after watching Don cheat on her time and time again.
  • I don’t like the name Eugene either so I don’t blame Don for hating it.
  • Does anyone else think that Don hates Roger because Roger is just an older version of Don? Don probably sees himself in Roger in the mistakes that he’s made. Can’t wait to see that blow up!
  • There are only 2 episodes left and I haven’t even watched the one from last night. What the heck am I waiting for?

Medium:

  • I finally started watching the new CBS season of Medium. It’s ok. Another show that I could probably drop. Honestly, why do I keep saying that and I don’t actually drop them?
  • Patricia Arquette has new hair.
  • The acting is just as unstimulating. Eh.
  • I’ll give it a bit longer before I give up.

NCIS:

  • Ziva is back and I still love the dynamic that she has with Dinozzo. I wish they’d finally kiss and make up and do the nasty. You know they want to. Has anyone else noticed a theme in pretty much all shows? There’s always a hero and heroine that love each other but don’t admit it. Oh the sexual tension!

Private Practice:

  • Violet is annoying with her whole “my baby was cut out of me and I’m crazy now” story. I wish she’d just be cured already. Maybe this week after the trial she’ll look at her kid?
  • The dude from Wings is also getting pretty annoying. I liked him better as the playboy. He’s now just a boring dad. Eh. See what kids do to you? It’s not pretty.
  • Please give Addison a love interest. Give her that heart surgeon, give her a new man… give her someone. I’m tired of listening to her feel sorry for herself.

The Mentalist:

  • Simon Baker is hot. I love him. I would totally have his babies… but the show is getting old real fast.
  • I will probably keep watching it though because Simon Baker is hot and I love him and want to have his babies.
  • Please not that babies make people boring (see Private Practice notes above) so I don’t really want his babies.
  • Simon Baker is hot hot hot.

Ugly Betty:

  • At the end of last season, I was ready to give up on Ugly Betty. Happily, the season started and it was better than I anticipated. I like that Betty’s look is changing. I like that her ex is a dorky douche. I like that she’s friends with her old boss. I like that she’s been promoted!
  • I still love Mark and that blond chick. Honestly, I can’t think of her name but she’s gorgeous (Becky Newton is the actress). Oy. Anyway, they are still awesome. But I do think that Mark needs some kind of promotion as well. He deserves it.
  • Wilhemina’s daughter’s murder storyline is lame. But I’ll take it because the rest is good.
  • Will Daniel get another love interest? Hmmmm…

Grey’s Anatomy:

  • I like the way they are hiding Ellen Pompeo’s surgery and hope that they can keep it up nicely until her return from maternity leave (which you won’t actually see because they were pretty clever when getting the schedule done)
  • I’m happy that Izzie is gone but I’m sad to learn that she’s coming back. Boring!
  • Alex needs a new love. I thought I liked him with Izzie but it’s just lame now. They made him into a jerk jerk and not a fun jerk. I liked him with Addison. Too bad she’s in LA and he’s in Seattle. Lame!
  • Bailey is not up to the normal standards these days. I wish they’d pull her back together, give her a bit more comedy and let her care again.
  • I kinda miss George.
  • I still hate the new folks from the other hospital.

I will probably post about my soaps later but my hubby is waiting to hang out and today is his birthday so I guess he deserves a bit of my attention! :) Take it easy folks and I swear I’ll try and post more often. Maybe I’ll start doing a once a week thing? Mondays maybe? That could totally be easier than writing a post for every show. Hmmm… I might be on to something! Maybe I’ll even start rating the weeks to see which weeks are better for each show!

Volume 4 ending

April 28, 2009 · 2 Comments

So much to talk about!!!

Sylar is still acting all crazy and goes apeshit on Danko. He makes Danko look like a killer and has him locked up with all the other bad guys. In the bin, he meets up with HRG and they make a pact to get away together… only Hiro has already opened the door while he’s having all kinds of physical problems while using his power. They let all the heroes go from the facility but Hiro is in bad shape.

HRG saves Angela and Claire by ditching them on the side of the road before the road block. He goes on to get arrested and taken in (see paragraph above!) but the ladies can get away. Claire finds Nathan but it’s really Sylar posing as Nathan. He’s getting ready to go see the president and shake his hand to become super powerful. Claire realizes that he is Sylar when he signs with his left hand. Oops Sylar! In the end, Sylar lets HRG know that he is Sylar and he has Claire. He then tortures Claire and forces her to drink wine and fun stuff like that. He’s a bit like the puppetmaster during those scenes because he controls her movements. It’s very lovely.

Nathan and Peter come to the rescue. They tell each other that they love each other and then face Sylar (after convincing the secret service people that Sylar is bad and that Nathan is one of them). All Peter has to do is touch Sylar and he’ll be able to take all his powers. Sylar breaks out the window with Nathan and Claire is saved by Peter… kinda. Peter and Claire leave because they think Sylar and Nathan went out the window. Sylar comes back to the room and kills Nathan by slitting his throat. I was SHOCKED! He then shifts into Nathan and goes down to meet the president (who is seriously protected by then!). Of course, Sylar meets up with Nathan’s friend and shifts into him to get close to the president. He then gets into the president’s limo and shakes his hand… Oh! Did I mention the president is really Peter? That’s right! Peter is awesome and injects Sylar with something to knock him out.

Angela dreams that Parkman can save Nathan… and he kinda does in a backwards way. Nathan is dead but Parkman has the ability to go into Sylar’s brain and convince him that Sylar is dead and that he is now Nathan. So Sylar’s body takes on Nathan’s shape and he remembers himself being Nathan. HRG, Angela, and Parkman know but I don’t know about Claire or Peter. It’s very shady. They end up burning Nathan’s body (which looks like Sylar) to make everyone think that Sylar is dead. Claire can’t believe that he’s dead. Oh wait. He’s not. Duh.

Volume 4 ends.

Volume 5 starts…

One of the former agents who captured heroes comes home… he sees that the water is running in his apartment and goes to check out the leak. A shape comes out of the water… SURPRISE! It’s Ali Larter and she’s naked. She turned into a human from water (kinda like that show from when I was a kid… only I can’t remember what it’s called!) She then drowns him with her powers. Very interesting. The next day, it’s in the paper and Nathan is reading it.

Nathan feels out of whack… probably because he’s Sylar! Duh! He has the ability to know how things work and he knows that the clock is running fast. Angela sees it and I think she has a mini freak out deep down inside her dark heart.

To be continued… in forever!

I Am Sylar

April 21, 2009 · 1 Comment

This week on Heroes, Sylar has an identity crisis. He’s been shifting into so many different bodies lately that he doesn’t remember who he is. He even starts to have problems with this shape shifting. One of his eyes stayed blue for 4 hours after he changed back to himself, he wakes up as the agent he killed, he’s freaking himself out. So what does Sylar do to make himself feel better? He develops some kind of crazy schizophrenia and starts talking to himself as his mother. He tells himself that he forgives himself and bla bla bla… Suddenly the idea dawns on him to become Nathan Petrelli and then to shake hands with the President and become the President of the USA. This should be interesting!

Other interesting things that happened…

  • Sylar let Micah get away! He remembered for a moment that he’s “special” and should be on the hero side and not the hunter side. So Micah gets away but not before seeing Sylar’s weird mental break between him and his mother.
  • Nathan sees himself on TV and figures (as usual) that he needs to go and take care of things by himself. Danko ends up tasering Nathan… and then Danko has all the rest of the Petrelli family tasered as well.
  • Parkman is still awesome with his mind powers and makes the agents think that there’s nobody in the house when he and his ex-wife and baby are standing in the middle of the room. It was sweet to see them slowly build back their relationship. I think that’ll be an interesting story for them to tell.
  • Ando and Hiro are still annoying but Hiro loses his powers again and has a bad nose bleed. Does this mean they’ll get off my screen? It’s such a shame because I used to like Hiro… now I can’t stand him.

And the mother of all awesomeness… Danko stabs Sylar in the back of the head where he should die if stabbed there… and HE DOESN’T DIE! He actually gets back up, rips out the knife and Danko peed in his pants. Holy crap! Is Sylar invincible!? Is he immortal? Loving this…

Of course… to be continued…

Weather woman

April 14, 2009 · 2 Comments

Ask and you shall receive, Nolebucgirl!!! You wanted an Angela episode and you got it! And what an episode it was!!!!!

The family is still digging up bodies at Coyote Sands when the kiddies demand answers from Angela. She starts to tell them about how she was in a concentration camp for heroes and she had a sister. Alice, the sister, apparently could control the weather and she started the whole killing spree. Angela made friends with some of the boys on the compound (holy crap it was awesome to see them as young kids and the girl who played Angela was great!). Together, they decided to escape and make a plan to rescue the heroes. Sadly, Alice was taken in for “testing” while Angela was out and she freaked out and started to zap people with her lightning bolts… this caused a huge frenzy in the camp and people started to get shot.

Turns out that Alice hid under a building and protected herself. She eventually got out and found a safe place because her sister told her that she would be safe at the camp. I guess she never really forgave her sister because she went ape shit on her when she came face to face with Angela. She even mistook Suresh for his father and there were more lightning bolts. In the end, the family bands together… not as a company but as a family. They want to go back to normal and by doing this everyone must go back to their old lives. Just as they are talking about this, Nathan explains that he’ll have to go talk to the president and – oh no! – Sylar is posing as Nathan and is on tv doing a press conference. Guess that plan is out of the question now!

I really enjoyed the episode. I thought Alice was pretty awesome. I prefered her as a kid because as an adult she was a bit crazy and wacked out. I also liked how Claire finally told HRG and Nathan that she tried so hard to impress them and she lost her childhood while doing it. Oh families! So fun!

Next week on Heroes:

Only 2 episodes left! Oh no!

On the run!!

April 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’m really not in a mood for posting but I’m going to write a few things that I liked and disliked about this episode of Heroes.

Liked:

  • Danko was outed to his hooker girlfriend.
  • Parkman was reunited with his kid and now he has a reason to be hopeful.
  • We barely saw Claire at all.
  • HRG got his world rocked by Sylar’s divorce papers.
  • HRG went ape shit on his wife because he thought she was Sylar (insane!!!!)
  • Texas Japanese American trucker. Hell yeah!
  • HRG is now on the run!
  • Peter needs to wash his hair.
  • HRG and Claire reunite (again…)
  • Digging. Dirty Petrelli boys!

Disliked:

  • Parkman being a bad guy. He’s just not very good at it and couldn’t kill the girl (except I’m happy he didn’t).
  • HRG was fooled by Sylar… AGAIN.
  • Danko is getting on my bloody nerves with his two faced act.
  • Hiro and Ando.
  • The music they play every time Mohinder is on the screen. I can’t stand the music. It annoys me!
  • HRG and Sandra breaking up (or on the verge of breaking up).
  • Angela made the boys (and Claire) dig instead of helping out.  I know she’s older but she’s not a cripple. What’s stopping her from digging too?

Of course… TO BE CONTINUED…

Heroes spoilers

March 31, 2009 · 1 Comment

Here are some spoilers from Heroes Television:

  • Hiro can freeze time. That’s it.
  • We’ll get a sense of how Janice really feels about the divorce in episode 24 this season, “I am Sylar” ( no, she’s not Sylar )
  • In episode 22, Matt is going to have an awesomely cathartic scene. And it involves Matt and Danko showdown!
  • In exactly 4 weeks, Nathan and Sylar will finally have a scene(s) together.
  • We’re just getting to know Baby Touch-And-Go.
  • Molly is in India with Mohinder’s mom.
  • Wait till you see who Micah ends up meeting up with in episode 24.
  • Claire and Micah won’t have scenes together this season.
  • Daphne’s dead, baby. Daphne’s dead. Traci is dead.

I also read that there are 3 deaths coming up. Two are real and one is fake. Daphne is dead… so that’s one. Traci is dead… that’s another… and who’s the last death? Very interesting!

Into Asylum

March 31, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I don’t really know what to name this post because there are so many possibilities… so I’ll just call it the name of the episode of Heroes that I just watched. Into Asylum.

Claire and Nathan take off to Mexico together where they hustle some college kids and take all their money. Nathan is drunk as a skunk and tells Claire that he’ll take care of everything. She believes him and they go to sleep. When they wake up Nathan is honest with her and tells her that he has no idea how to fix things. She says that he’s her superhero and then they go off together to find a solution to their problem. I’m not too excited about Claire and Nathan being together because Claire is ridiculously boring and whines too much and Nathan is flip flopping (like any good politician!) between being a good guy and a bad guy. I wish they would both just fly away and never come back.

Peter wants answers from his mother and she takes him to a church where she prays. HRG comes with his team of people to hunt her down and when he sees her he claims that it’s “clear” and nobody is there. He’s protecting her because he wants to help her go underground. Peter accepts that his mother is flawed and she comes clean to him about the way she became the way she is. They leave together to go underground and hide out for a while. But first! The family has to be put back together with Claire, Nathan, Peter and Angela together to go visit Angela’s sister. I wonder what her power is!!! I don’t really like the family dynamic with Claire in it because she’s not really a Petrelli and she’s not nearly as interesting. Besides, her bangs look AWFUL! She needs a shorter haircut because this long do isn’t doing anything for her. As for Peter, he’s still handsome and sexy as usual. We need more of him. Maybe with his shirt off? I’d like that. Please? Thank you.

Sylar propositions Danko with his help to catch all the other “heroes”. He claims that he can help Danko and Danko buys it. Together, they chase a shape shifter who pretends to be both Danko and Sylar. In the end, Danko shoots him and Sylar takes his ability. The shape shifter dies while he’s in Sylar’s shape and Danko makes it seem like the person who’s dead really is Sylar. He even sticks a knife in his head so that HRG believes that Danko is the man! Danko and Sylar then team up to take everyone down… this means that Sylar would be the last one left! OMG! I heart Sylar and I might like Danko if he’s working with him. Let’s just hope that this doesn’t get out of hand and Sylar doesn’t go and do something stupid like kill beautiful Peter.

Of course the episode is… TO BE CONTINUED….

And next week’s preview is short and sweet.

Cutting the cast

March 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It seems that Heroes is cutting their cast a bit. Budget cuts maybe? Who knows… but I am actually happy with the changes that are being made.

First, Hiro gets his powers back. Baby Parkman gives him back his powers because he’s the on-off kid. Magic. I kinda liked seeing Janice again because she was spunky and fun this time instead of obnoxious like in the first season. Hiro and Ando take the baby and take care of him to protect him. Sadly, this means Hiro and Ando are together and being annoying childish babies. At least they had a talk about Hiro’s mom and why he acts like a douche all the time.

In a trap set up by HRG and evil Danko they release Tracy who leads them straight to Micah. Micah is rebel… ONE WEEK LATE. Oops! Shoulda watched this last week. So lazy of me… Anyway, my first surprise about him being Rebel is that he somehow had a deeper voice. It shocked me when he said “TAXI!” and sounded like a man. LOL How silly of me. I forget about puberty. Micah then gets away as Tracy freezes everyone (except HRG and Danko somehow) and Micah gets away. Danko then shoots Tracy and she’s dead (we even get to see a tear from her frozen eye… weird and creepy if you ask me!) I am guessing that this means we’ll be seeing the other character that Ali Larter plays (isn’t her name Barbara?) I hope she has a good power because the ice thing was pretty lame to me. Although I say kudos to the dude in the special effects department because he kicks major ass!

Next we have Parkman who’s trying to save speedster girl. I can never remember her name… but as she’s dying, he takes her on a trip in her brain. So weird and sappy. Then she’s dead and I celebrated and did a little dance in my office chair. Not really but I thought about it. Mohinder was with him when she died and consoled him by patting his shoulder. Sadness. Can’t wait for him to move on and start kicking some serious ass. He should trap people in their own minds in an evil way the way his father did to him because that would be awesome.

Angela is now also being hunted by the big bad government (I swear, who likes the government anyway? Just kidding. I’m not a bad guy, you don’t have to monitor my calls now!). She asks a friend for help and the woman looks familiar but I can’t remember who she is… or maybe I just remember the actress from somewhere. She ends up getting trapped in an elevator while she’s trying to get away from the Feds and beautiful Peter comes and saves her. He flies away with her and takes her to the Statue of Liberty. There, he asks her what she wants to do and…..

To be continued… (what else is new?)

Can’t wait to watch tonight’s episode! All about my BFF Sylar! Psycho killer… qu’est-ce c’est? Sylar!

After watching this video I wanted to mention that I completely forgot that Claire was even on the show and now I’m sad we’ll be seeing her again. Shame.

Shades of Gray

March 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I have no idea why but I kept a little recap of the episode while I was watching so I thought I’d share… and then share some faves and unfaves afterwards.

Nathan’s the hero again with the bomb. He punches Parkman out and they take him away.

Tracy is still tied up but she remembers reading that help is on the way. Rebel somehow got in touch with her.  Denko wants to know everything about Nathan. Tracy covers for Nathan and says that he doesn’t have an ability. Denko also asks HRG about Nathan but he also covers for Nathan… but he does throw Angela under the bus by saying that she would know who can fly and who can’t.

HRG calls Angela and gives her the heads up. Denko and Nathan are in a power struggle and Angela is pleased that Nathan is her little boy. She then rubs some weird socks against her face.

Angela meets with Denko at a restaurant and she manipulates him. She tells him that Nathan has no power and that it must have skipped a generation. She’s looking especially old when she’s smiles after eating her oyster. Denko goes back to DC and gets the boot from Nathan. Nathan thinks he’s a bad ass with a toothpick in his mouth. HRG is his new replacement. Denko can’t let it go and pulls a gun on Nathan… shoots the window behind him and then pushes him out of the window… Of course, Nathan saves his own ass and flies away. Denko can’t believe his eyeballs!

Doyle wants help from Claire but leaves when she doesn’t want to help him. Of course, he has to cry while leaving.

Claire wants to get a job at the comic book store in order to help the others with powers. She’s so hot that she gets the job. She also calls her dad up to ask him how he was able to live a double life for so long and how did he do it. While she’s talking to him, she’s staring down the agents that are following her around nonstop in that creepy pool cleaning van. HRG sees Parkman while on the phone (and then we don’t see Parkman again for the rest of the epi… weird).

Claire then gets a text and finds out that Doyle was found. He then controls the agent to point the gun at her own head. She’s really pretty and then he slams her against the wall and Barbie comes to the rescue. Claire helps him get a new identity and he’s thankful. She wants to know if he has really changed and he has a little weird freaky smile on his face (that says NO).

Sylar meets his daddy and he’s some crazy old man who’s pathetic with cancer. His dad is a nasty old bastard and his sarcastic attitude is lovely. His dad has lots of abilities and Sylar finds out he’s exactly like his dad. He steals abilities like his daddy.”You have to kill. It’s who you are” says Daddy Gray. The hunt is meaningless and disappointing and in the end it’ll be an unsatisfied life because nobody can fight back.Sylar kills a bunny. The boys have a heart to heart and Sylar is acting like a preteen who wants affection and approval. He wants to know why daddy abandoned him and then shows off his healing ability and tries to make his father jealous that he’ll never die. Doesn’t work… until Daddy tries to take his ability to heal and Sylar is drowzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Turns out even old dudes want to kill people for abilities. Sylar then turns on his bad assness and pushes Daddy away with his mind. Then he smirks and twists Daddy’s oxygen tubes around his neck. He wants Daddy to die slowly and painfully. He then leaves with Mr. Bunny that he helped stuff.

Hiro and Ando show up to save Matt Parkman and a nanny who quit gives them a little baby. She tries to hand the baby over and Hiro has the BEST response “no thank you!” That is exactly what I would say if someone tried to hand me a baby like that.

Claire gets a text that her free pass is up and agents are coming. They enter her home and go to her room. She’s in the trees outside with her daddy, Nathan.  Safe!

Denko gets a stuffed bunny as a gift and Sylar is waiting for him in his apartment.

Favorite stuff:

  • Sylar. I am really starting to like him. And he’s handsome. He’s a bad guy and a good guy at the same time. I love that he didn’t kill his dad because he knew that it would be worse for him to know that his son has the ability to heal and he doesn’t. Maybe that’ll kill him! And then he goes after Denko once Denko’s been fired. Go Sylar!
  • Nathan is finally protecting his family the way he should have been before. He saved Claire (save the cheerleader!) even though he’s a selfish bastard the rest of the time.
  • HRG is the new second in command. Is this going to become a second “company”??
  • Parkman didn’t set off the bomb to decimate DC.

Unfavorite stuff:

  • Where’s Peter?
  • Where did Parkman go?
  • Who’s the baby?
  • Why is Claire becoming the super hero of this show?
  • Angela needs to lay off the plastic surgery.

The next Heroes is in 2 weeks and here’s the promo:
