After the final rose

July 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I forgot to post about the last episode of the Bachelorette this year. I watched After the final rose episode the other day (I can’t even keep my days straight anymore!) and watched as Reid and Jillian had weird awkward moments and Kiptyn took it like a man. It wasn’t the most interesting episode but I did enjoy the audience questions.

The girl who asked Reid out must have been like 16 years old or something but it was hilarious how she broke the ice after the uncomfortable silences between Jillian and Reid.

The people who wanted to know about Ed’s mankinis… very interesting stuff. I can’t believe Jillian said that she liked them. Seriously? I don’t think anyone could like those!

And I THOUGHT they were going to say who the next Bachelor is… but now I think that Reid is probably really going to be in the running to be the next Bachelor. I originally thought that Jake would get it but I would much rather watch a neurotic guy like Reid on TV for an entire season of the Bachelor. :) It also doesn’t hurt that he’s handsome.

So there you have it. It’s the end of another season of the Bachelorette. Jillian and Ed are engaged and want to be married in 2010 sometime. I hope it lasts that long but we’ll see.

Bachelorette finale

Jillian picks Ed. The dorky guy with the really short shorts. Weird.

I would give more info but my DVR didn’t record the Bachelorette because my husband decided he wanted to record a RERUN of Anthony Bourdain’s show… and of course, ABC.com is fucking up hardcore and I can’t get to watch it on there… so I just spoiled it for myself and read it on people.com. Boring. I was hoping she would pick Reid because he’s normal and cute. Oh well. I’m guessing next week we’ll find out that Jake is the next Bachelor.

What’s up with the teens?

July 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Here’s an update on the Secret Life of the American Teen. I watch it every now and then so I’m all caught up now.

Anne: She’s still preggers with what she thinks is her boyfriend’s baby. Boyfriend has already said that he’s got low sperm count. George knows that he didn’t get a vasectomy and totally thinks the baby is his. Boyfriend is now trying to push Anne’s old family away for the “NEW” family that’s coming. Boo.

George: still living with Ashley next door. She’s totally in on all his secrets. He still secretly loves Anne but won’t admit it. He told Grace that he didn’t get a vasectomy and now Grace is telling everyone at school.

Ricky: He’s getting his own apartment because he wants to be able to take care of the baby himself and support himself. Ben’s father gives Ricky the apartment over the butcher shop and Ricky is super excited. Now he and Adrian can have sexy time whenever they want and he can take care of the baby at his own apartment. Woo!

Amy: She’s still being the selfish little bitch that she always is. She refuses to let Ricky do anything for the baby if she isn’t there. She’s overly controlling of everything and everyone around her. She’s pushing Ben away because he wants to have sex. She’s also forcing Ben to take her to Italy for the summer when she’s just delusional thinking that she’s going to Italy.

Ben: He’s going to Italy for the summer. Everyone thinks he’s going for sex but he’s really going to work for his uncle’s hotel. He’s excited and he doesn’t want to bring Amy and John but for some reason it’s looking like Amy is obsessed with going. I hope this is the end of their relationship because Ben is getting treated like shit a lot and Amy is a douchebag.

Adrian: her parents are getting back together and looking for a new house. She’s excited so that she can have some privacy to have sex with Ricky… She’s also still BFFs with Grace even though they didn’t talk for a while after Grace’s father died.

Grace: Her dad is dead and she’s dealing with it. She’s still with Jack even though she pushed him away at first. Now she’s freaking out because her mother is giving away her father’s stuff to people around them. She’s also out of control with her motor mouth and told Jack that Betty is a hooker.

Betty: She’s engaged to Ben’s dad but she’s also a hooker. Oops!

I think that covers everyone. It hasn’t been too terribly interesting these days but I will mention that Amy’s character is getting more and more obnoxious and she’s just being really annoying and bitchy on all the episodes. If it wasn’t for her, the show would probably be tolerable. I guess that’s how teen parents act. So note to the teens. Don’t have sex. Don’t have a baby. Don’t act like a bitch when you do have a baby and you suddenly realize it’s too hard for you. End of story.

The Men Tell All

July 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So last night was the filler episode of “The Men Tell All” on the Bachelorette. We start off with Chris Harrington asking Jillian a bunch of questions and it’s not too terribly interesting but it’s not completely boring either. The real fun part is when the boys come back and start bickering and acting like children on stage.

I think the WORST part of the entire show is the terrible applause that is right on cue. Clearly you can tell that they are being told to applaud or cheer or whatever since they all do it at the exact same time. Couldn’t they let it be more candid? I’m pretty sure that the women in the audience could figure out all on their own when to clap and when to boo. Just saying…

So all the fun boys came back and they talked about the man code… which is boring and silly but they like it. Juan is still a cheese-ass but that’s life. He acts like he’s kinda gay but maybe he’s just really feminine? David grew a beard and it didn’t look that bad on him (surprisingly since I don’t normally like beards). Jake was his usual self and I think he has a clear path to the next season of The Bachelor.

Jillian then came back and saw all the boys and they didn’t ask her any hard questions or act weird with her. It wasn’t a very exciting episode.

Then they showed the scenes that we didn’t get to see… the funny things like Ed being drunk and other silly things that were cut and I really enjoyed that portion of the show. It’s probably the part I liked the most. :)

On the scenes from the next, Jillian has to make her big decision and we find out that Reid comes back. I’m guessing that he tells her that he loves her and that he asks her to marry him even though he’s not there for the last dates. I hope she said yes to him and ditches the other two boys but I guess I gotta wait a week to find out.

Wes tries to defend himself

July 14, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Wes is still a douchebag. Read the people.com article on him below…

Bachelorette’s Wes: Don’t Believe All You See on TV

July 14, 2009

“There’s an old saying here in Texas,” says ex-Bachelorette contender Wes Hayden. “Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see … On that show, I wouldn’t believe anything.”

After the July 6 episode, which showed the Austin singer apparently confessing to having a girlfriend and other villainous acts after getting the boot from Jillian Harris, Wes is dealing with the fallout — and contending that what people saw was not the real Wes. And after PEOPLE spoke to accused girlfriend Laurel Kagay, Wes and his ex, who he says “was 100 percent telling the truth,” have been bombarded by angry calls and emails.

“We haven’t been together since last July or August,” he says. “She’s going through hell right now. People are calling her a bitch and a whore and are telling people to boycott her business, which she’s worked hard to do for years and years. She’s finally successful, and now she’s getting phone calls at all hours of the night.”

Last weekend in San Antonio, Wes says, “a girl walked up and said, ‘You’re such an ass.’” He replied, “Look, it’s a TV show. That’s it. I don’t know what else to tell you.”

But Wes sees such encounters as opportunities to tell his side of the story. Last Friday, he performed at the Lucky Mule in Abilene, Texas. “Before I went on stage, the deejay said, ‘Look, I’m bringing Wes onstage, and I don’t want anybody throwing beer bottles or cussing him out. This is Wes Hayden the artist, not Wes the TV guy.’” After the show, “People said, ‘I came a hater and left a fan,’” Wes recalls.

But booking such shows is harder than ever. Those that have canceled have spelled out their reason clearly: “They’ve said, ‘Basically, nobody’s going to show up,” he says. “Nobody wants to see this guy that everybody thinks is a bad guy.”

One of the key moments on The Bachelorette that turned Wes into a villain was the limo ride after his departure, when he appeared to say he was the only contender to make it to the final four with a girlfriend. “That was a question that was asked of me in the limo,” he says, and he simply repeated it.

“‘Yeah, right. Get real, man. If I’d had a girlfriend, I’d be home,” he adds. “I wouldn’t be dealing with this.’”

And about that apparently confrontational date with Jillian in Spain, Wes says that he and Jillian had a nice time, holding hands and kissing at dinner. “Then I got the fantasy card, and she said, ‘Do you think I should do this?’” Wes recalls. “I told her yes. That’s how in the dark I was. If things were going badly, I wouldn’t have.”

But once he was denied the fantasy suite, “I knew right then that my time was probably done.”

Although Wes is concerned about the threats he and Laurel have received, he has no regrets about meeting Jillian. “She’s a wonderful woman,” he says. “I’d be very anxious to see if somebody’s getting married out of this show; that would make me believe anything. But she’s such a wonderful woman that she doesn’t need a TV show to find a husband.” – Darla Atlas

Big Mistake!

July 14, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday I actually watched the Bachelorette during it’s normal time… Ok, that’s a lie! I watched it about 30 minutes behind so that I wouldn’t have to watch any commercials. :)

So the hot dudes went on hot dates with Jillian in Hawaii. She then took them all up on the overnight dates so that they could indulge in all their fantasies.  Everything went well with Kiptyn, everything went well with Reid… and then Ed had stage fright or something and it went poorly.

So I don’t really feel like writing much about this episode because it was really annoying and I feel like Jillian made a mistake. After things went shitty with Ed overnight, she decided to send Reid home. WHAT THE FUCK!? He totally loved her but he wasn’t ready to say it yet… how many weeks has it been? I mean, come on! You can’t expect him to say it after he’s competing with other men and doesn’t really know her! Argh! So frustrating!

Poor little Reid went home where he’ll make lots more girlfriends and the ladies will fall all over themselves to be with him. I wish him the best of luck. Now, I’m pretty sure that Kiptyn will win. Boring.
