And the True Beauty is…

JULIA!!!

julia

Alright… so now that you know who won, let’s talk about some of the weird highlights of this last episode.

  • First the final beauties to get their nudy photos taken for People magazine and have their interview as well. Joel manages to act like an asshole again… Surprise surprise! That guy is a gem. I wouldn’t want to be around him if you paid me.
  • Julia had the best photo but for some reason the judges said that they all won. Boo. That’s dumb. Julia looked the best. The guys just looked creepy.
  • The 3 beauties then find out that there’s a room in the basement where they have been watching the beauties in the house. Julia is happy because she’s been nice most of the time and it shows on her reel. Billy is embarrassed by his reel and feels bad and Joel still thinks he’s God. Gross.
  • They are all going to the hall of beauty and everyone’s worried about finding a new outfit. Crazy!
  • As they are all standing in the hall of beauty, I examined Julia’s dress and decided that I definitely LOVE it. A lot. I want that dress. It’s beautiful!
  • Then they talk about the 3rd place person… BILLY!
  • Then they announce that Julia won and I laugh because Joel is trying to play it cool but he just wants to tear someone’s head off, I’m sure!

So there you have it, Julia won. She’s $100,000 richer now and she’ll have her photo in People. Go her. Also… I hope they never do this show again because watching conceited people on a tv show is tiring for all us ugly people! Ha!

Yay Kathy Griffin!

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I just watched Privileged from last night and I was so excited to see Kathy Griffin as the wedding planner for Marco and his fiance (I can’t remember his name… I’m horrible with names).

Anyway, the crazy wedding was the basis of the entire episode and it was pretty awesome. Some thoughts on the epi:

  • Will and Megan broke up before the wedding because Will is a crazy selfish entitled rich person and he doesn’t understand someone who isn’t rich and happy like him (i.e. the rest of the world).
  • Luis turns out to be a homophobe and Sage breaks up with him because she can’t stand that he’s not willing to change his opinions on anything because he’s so set in his ways. It was pretty sad to see them break up but I’m pretty sure I would feel that way about it as well.
  • Rose is going crazy trying to figure out who she is and plans on going on some weird trip to Minnesota to find her true fleece-wearing, bug spray self. Very weird. Even her boyfriend is weirded out that she’ll change too much.
  • Megan gives her 1/3 done book to her boss who tells her that she likes it. I don’t know why but I think this part of the show is SO boring. Who cares? I don’t.
  • Will is at work instead of Marco’s wedding which is sad. He also realizes that he is proud of his work and that Megan was right about him being a selfish bastard. He calls her to talk and she says to come over… and then! Of course… we see the Brit that Megan met at the wedding… in her bed. Oops! I saw this coming a while ago so this should be interesting.
  • I’m interested in seeing Sage figure out who she really is instead of the rich bitch that she acts like all the time. Hopefully while Rose is finding herself, Sage will do the same and they’ll be more mature. That’s all I ask for. Maturity.

Missing hours

Just when I thought that they had run out of stuff for Alison Dubois to do with her psychic abilities, I watched this week and last week’s episodes online.

Last week, Alison was practically possessed by the thoughts of another man (who was still alive, by the way!) and she started to make a bomb in her garage. She had no idea why she felt so compelled to do it but objects were glowing and she would buy them… and then she made a bomb. Later, she found out that it was her husband’s colleague who made a bomb that his father used to kill a bunch of people at a federal building. It was creepy and weird and I didn’t think anything about it.

This week, Alison goes to the grocery store… and then she loses 6 hours of her life because she was possessed by the ghost of a woman who had just been murdered. She later finds out (in her dreams) that she was possessed by a woman who was murdered by her boss… and then she went back to the dead woman’s body, cut off her hand, used it to get a phone number from the computer… then she got caught stealing the number and then she stabbed the boss in the heart with scissors… Very crazy stuff. All during this time, Alison wasn’t really in her body but they actually have footage of her buying a saw and some baggies at a home improvement store. Crazy! When she finally figures out everything that happens, she’s able to help some stranded immigrants on the mexican border that were dumped by the boss who killed the lady. CRAZY.

So just when I thought Medium was about to get boring and be the same thing over and over, they are showing that Alison is actually able to get possessed by ghosts or thoughts that others have. I’m interested to see if they will actually continue to do this because I find it very interesting and it also allows Patricia Arquette to use her acting skills in a whole new way because she’s practically portraying new people each time.  I hope they keep it up or this show is going to get old real fast.

Parkman Killer

February 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

This week’s episode wasn’t as good as last week but that’s ok. I’m still digging that Heroes is getting better! A few thoughts…

  • I heart that Peter is fighting his brother and that he saved Parkman.
  • I was really angry when Mohinder turned out to be some weird backstabbing jerk off. Not impressed with him at all. He doesn’t deserve to have abilities!
  • I enjoyed watching the “flashbacks” or memories that Parkman saw in HRG’s mind because it explained how everything came together and we also got to see Parkman use his abilities. It was nice to see him do something useful for once.
  • Dafne is not dead. SAD. I find her annoying so I wasn’t excited that she’s still alive.
  • Storage unit. I thought it was a trick because they were sending Peter… Beautiful Peter. Why do they always send him out to get caught and be in trouble? Sad little story. I’m glad he got away from there unhurt.
  • Nathan used his powers to get to Peter at scary dude’s apartment! WTF! I was shocked because Nathan keeps trying to pretend that he’s not like everyone else. He’s just like them. That traitor.

Can’t wait til next week! Now I’m off to go home and visit with my TiVo! Playing catch up is fun!

Psycho Killer

February 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

Qu’est-ce que c’est? C’est Sylar. Hells yes!

The best part about having a week of TV to catch up on is that I get to catch up and then I magically have another episode to watch right after I watch the old one. I don’t know if that made sense… but I just watched last week’s episode of Heroes and now I’m about to watch the one from yesterday.

Thoughts on last week:

  • New guy, Alex, from the comic book shop? Love him. He’s cute and reminds me of an innocent Sylar (in looks only). I am also kinda liking that Claire brought him home. I smell a romance coming along.
  • Tracy… oh how I wish she would just die. She’s just nasty… I didn’t like how she was used to get funding from the government. She better either die soon or get out of there and join the good guys. I’m sick of watching her with Nathan.
  • HRG. YAY! He was kidnapped by the good guys! I LOVED the ending when they said he had a drink too many and that they’d take care of him. Love it.
  • Sylar… Oh Sylar. Psycho killer. I heart you. He actually acted like he had a heart and went to go get his little boy friend and then killed a bunch of the idiot military men. He also made sure to steal their happy little tracking laptop. I can’t wait to see what he does once he finds out where all the other good guys are. Does this make Sylar a good guy?
  • Ando and Hiro. I hate to say it but they are getting annoying. I wish Hiro wouldn’t act so immature. Isn’t he supposed to be nearly 30 years old? He acts like a teenager and it’s annoying. As for Ando, I’m tired of him too because he’s just an extension of Hiro. Argh… Can’t they do something interesting?

Ok… I’m off to watch this week’s episode. I’ll be back in an hour to post comments on that!

And in case you want to hear the rest of the song… Here’s Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads:

Bitchfest 2009

February 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Last night I actually watched a show WITH commercials! I went over to a friend’s apartment so that we could watch the women on the Bachelor bitch for 2 hours. I thought it would be more entertaining but it wasn’t… I feel like this season is filled with a lot of fillers. They go over the past season for about 20 minutes each episode… which makes me believe that this show could actually be one hour instead of 2 but they just don’t have the shows to fill in that extra time slot. Barf.

Alright… so first we get a little chit chat with Jason about crap in the house. He says that he didn’t have sex with Molly in the tent (I don’t believe him). He also says that they “get to know each other” and “talk” in the suites on the overnight dates… Also a lie, I’m sure! I just hope he was wearing a rubber or he’ll have another kid! Oops!

Anyway, I wasn’t too impressed with the show. They put Natalie up and had her defending herself but I found her pretty forgettable during the show so I have no idea why they would do that. They also asked Jillian how she felt and she did a great job of pretending that she wasn’t hurt.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty boring episode and just makes the season last longer… just what we need. I think I might watch that Castle show once the Bachelor is over. In case you were wondering what I planned on doing once this was all over.

BIG mistake

February 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Urgh. I just watched the Bachelor from last week.

First we have the one on one dates in New Zealand:

Jillian gets a helicopter ride, then a cliff side picnic and then dinner… then she spends the night with Jason and some time in the hot tub.

Molly got to go bungee jumping, lunch with 25 questions (actually, only 24) and then dinner with the last question and then spends the night with Jason and in the bath tub.

Melissa gets to go yachting with Jason in Winston Churchill’s boat and they get in the hot tub (do I see a trend here?), they talk about her parents being jerks for not wanting to meet Jason, and then she says she loves him at dinner… and then she spends the night with him.

So, let me get this straight… They do have sexy time when they go off into the night together, right? I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t. Just saying….

Then Jason watches some personal videos before he makes his big decision… His big bad mistake. Jason sends Jillian home. Jillian was the one girl who was REAL. She was so funny and awesome yet he chose Deanna 2.0, and Molly to be his final 2. So stupid.

After being eliminated, we watch Jillian cry and then Jason cry… and then some talking about how they are so sad. Cry cry cry. Sadly, Jillian is gone and she’ll get someone totally more amazing than Jason. Will she be the next Bachelorette?

Then we get to see a clip of next week’s episode (actually tonight). It’s a women tell all with all the ladies who have been rejected. I hear it’s supposed to be juicy so I think I’ll watch it. I’m not really big into the “tell all” episodes because they are just a way to make the season longer.

Oh yeah, they also showed Deanna showing up in New Zealand. I thought she was going to show up waaaaaaaaaaaay earlier. I also heard that she’s dating some other dude now so why would she be getting involved here? She can’t possibly want him, can she!? Urgh.

Bye Bye Laura!

February 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’m trying to catch up on my Monday shows since tonight will be another episode! Actually, it’s the final episode next week!

So on this episode, the beauties are going to a red carpet event and their mystery dates are their mothers/father. They are all super excited so see them and the parents get the final say on the child’s “look” for the carpet event. Very interesting! Everyone seems to just take whatever their parents offer and accept it… which is normal, I guess?

During the prep for the event, there’s a stylist there who’s talking to them all in a private interview and he’s basically trying to find out if they will talk about each other behind their backs. Joel and Laura go to town talking about Billy but both Billy and Julia are nice.

The beauties then go to the party and it’s weird and awkward but they think that they are stars. Laura doesn’t understand people who talk over the 5th grade level, Billy tells the same story over and over and over, Joel is all suave with his mommy, and Julia is a nice girl with a nice mom (who notices that the judges are a bunch of phonies just like the beauties are!!!)

There’s another tiny test to see if anyone will help the girl with the dress tucked into her undies. Of course, Julia helps. I think she should win because she’s truly beautiful inside and out.

In the end, Joel and Laura go to the hall of beauty. Sadly, there’s no test outside the hall and we just get to the fun part… which is watching them defend themselves and be boring. Finally, Laura is sent home and she laughs when she watches the videos of her being a giant snatch to everyone. So…

Bye bye Laura!
