It’s only day 3 of watching Y&R and damnit to hell I’m hooked. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with Brad and Sharon at the cabin. I LOVE that Phyllis was duped by the kids. I am interested to see what the kids are going to be doing on the mountain… Snow storms rock because they happen on every single soap and they cause lots of excitement to happen. So there you have it folks, I’m addicted to Y&R.

United States of Tara

I knew that one of the movie networks was doing a tv show on a woman with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder, aka Multiple Personality Disorder) and I found it! It’s called United States of Tara and it stars Toni Colette as the woman with the personalities. She is married with a family as well. She has 2 kids and a hubby who all clearly know that she has alters and they know them well too. It’s very fascinating to see this and I wonder if people are really like this or if they are just overdoing it for the show. Tara (aka T – the only alter I’ve seen so far) also has a sister who doesn’t seem to be as understanding about the disease as the rest of Tara’s family is. She’s the most entertaining because she’s angry and doesn’t like the alters… she even questions whether Tara is faking it or not. So far, T, the 15 year old girl alter is the only I’ve seen. She’s young, spunky, dresses a bit skanky and is hitting on husband, Max, all the time. Very creepy. The husband, who used to be Aidan on Sex in the City, is absolutely charming on this show as well!

I was on cbs.com this morning looking for something to watch to pass the time until the big boss comes in… when I saw an ad saying that Secret Diary of a Call Girl is back on Showtime! Even better, TV.com has the videos up on their website and I can watch it at work! So I’m enjoying some sleazy tv right now. Hot!
She’s back!!! And in this episode, she nearly gets caught and publicized by a reporter because she slept with some politician.
Very naughty.
Next time… Belle/Hannah gets a somewhat boyfriend! Woo

I found some of the ABC medianet photos in larger sizes and couldn’t help but post them here.

Moe and Noelle on their wedding day

Getting married by James Brown

New girl, Stacy with Stan (sleazeball?)

Stacy and Stan again... only Stacy is a show girl?
I’m guessing that Moe and Noelle get married in either Las Vegas or Atlantic City… and they are doing the quicky wedding business when we get to meet Stacy and Stan. I’m not looking forward to these new characters. Blah.
Oh yeah… and doesn’t that “chapel” look a lot like Adriana and Rex’s wedding photos??? And a lot like Mendorra too!? Weird!

Why?????

Why am I doing this?
I have started to watch the Young and the Restless. After reading on blogs and hearing on podcasts that Y&R is the best show ever (well, next to OLTL that is!), I thought I should give it a try and watch a few episodes. Luckily, cbs.com has Y&R online so that I can watch it at work instead of having another recording on my TiVo… and I’ve watched 2 days. Damnit to hell… I actually like it. I’m already getting sorta hooked on it and one of my colleagues is a huge Y&R fan and she keeps coming into my office to tell me more about the backstories and history. I really have an unnatural love for soaps.
Now I have to get my history straight and go visit a few websites to get some connections figured out because, as some of you might know, watching a soap can be confusing. Off I go!

Minor rule change

Yet another group of ladies were dumped by the bachelor this week.
There was a one on one date that might have ended up with a little sexy time in a tent… but we can’t be sure!!! That date ended with a rose and a girl in some men’s clothing!!
There was a group date that brought the chicas to GENERAL HOSPITAL! I would do ANYTHING to go on set with Days of our Lives or One Life to Live. ANYTHING. Anyway… They got to play around and pretend to be actors. Did I mention I would do ANYTHING to do that on set of one of my soaps? Yeah… The girls then got all emotional and crazy and at their wrap party they freaked out and acted like psychos. It was so painful to watch that I wanted to FF through it all. Argh! Women like that drive me nuts! Naomi got a rose for not being a psycho… or something like that.
Then there was a two on one day with Stephanie and Nikki. I figured Nikki would go home because she’s so introverted and hadn’t opened up to Jason… but then again, I think Stephanie and Jason have no romantic chemistry. Yes, they are both parents… and so what? I think she should be next to go home.
Cocktail party! More drama. Girls being girls. Blah. Jason wants to know what’s up with the girls being all lunatic like.
Rose ceremony. Naomi, Stephanie, and Molly already had roses and there were 3 more roses to give out. Melissa (aka Dallas Cowboys dancer) got a rose and Jillian (yeah, my girl Jillian!) got a rose as well… then it came time to give out the last rose and Jason made a slight itty bitty rule change. He didn’t give it out and Megan, Lauren, and Shannon went home. They were angry/sad/pissed/etc… and it was whatever.
Next week I think we’ll be seeing DeAnna. Wooooooooooo.

Todd’s trial wraps up this week with several surprising twists, including Nora coercing him into making a full confession of his misdeeds. HBS (Nora) says “A lot happens. It’s a very whirlwind week.” Nora is understandably baffled when Starr ends up changing her testimony at the last minutes. HBS says “She’s like, ‘What are you doing? She tries every which way to get Starr to tell her the story and Starr keeps changing the story. So finally, Nora looks at Tea and goes, ‘What the hell did you do to her?’ ” Yup, Tea succeeded in her attempt to lay a guilt trip on Starr for sending her daddy to jail. As a result, Nora turns to Plan B. HBS says “Nora calls in Lee Halpern [a.k.a. Janet, Marty's former nurse] and she turns out to be dead! Tea goes, ‘I killed her in self-defense,’ and it’s like, ‘Are you kidding me? This is such a gross miscarriage of justice and nobody has any evidence.’ That’s the last straw.” And it leads to a very surprising verdict. HBS says “The case is dismissed for lack of enough evidence to support the charges.” But Nora refuses to see Todd get off scot-free, so she stuns everyone with her demand that Starr be arrested for perjury. HBS says “Basically, what Nora realizes is that she did her job and she got greedy. Both she and Tea just wanted to win, and they lost sight of who the real victims were, and they deserve something. So she says to Tea, ‘You set it up. You’re the one who orchestrated this. You got Starr to perjure herself in order to save your client. You are the one that threw her under the bus.’ So finally, Todd says. ‘Well, what do you want?’ And Nora says, ‘Elocution. I want you to tell everyone everything.’ ” At that point, Todd has nothing to lose, so he admits to all of his misdeeds in order to keep his daughter from going to jail, and issues heartfelt apologies to Starr and Marty. HBS says regarding the scenes, “It’s very powerful. Trevor did a wonderful job.” Wait, so Todd’s not going to jail? HBS says “No, he’s free and clear. This confession was not for any other gain than for the victims. There’s no double jeopardy. And the fact that he’s not going to prison for what he did disgusts her, but more important was what she needed to do for her clients. She needed to be able to put a period at the end of the sentence for Marty.”
In her quest for the Buchanan fortune, Dorian pulls out all the stops when she proposes marriage to David-and Clint will do anything he can to stop the wedding and hold on to the family biz. JPL (Rex) says “Clint hires Rex to hunt them down, so Rex goes to Dorian’s house and finds out from a barely English-speaking Swedish butler that David and Dorian have gone to Vegas to get married. So Rex tells Clint, who offers Rex $100,000 bonus to go to Vegas and stop them. Rex is like, ‘Oh, my God. I could send Shane to school and all these camps he wants to go to and put a down payment on a house for the family!’ He takes the job, but he’s like, ‘Listen, Clint. They already left. They’re so way ahead they could just land in Vegas immediately and get married right away!’ ” As a result, Clint hires a Vegas private eye in the interim, while Rex heads to Vegas with Gigi in tow.

FEEDJIT
January 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment
As some of you may have noticed, I put up a tracker on the sidebar of the blog. Personally, I don’t like to be tracked when I’m online and I like to lurk around unseen… so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the FEEDJIT thingy on the blog… Turns out that I don’t really like it because I feel that it completely invades the privacy of others that come to my blog. So I took it down. Thanks for being good sports about it!
Oh yeah… I would totally appreciate any feedback about the tracking sidebar widget. If you hated it, please let me know why!! And if you didn’t care, I still want to know!
