Weekend TV

June 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m kinda disappointed in myself this weekend. I didn’t save anything good for the weekend TV viewing!! I watched some Ace of Cakes, a few days of Days of Our Lives and some movies. Oh well…

I did keep OLTL until Saturday though and I was very disappointed that we didn’t get to see much Tessica. I think Bo and Lindsay are DISGUSTING and BORING. Pretty much the one storyline that is keeping me hooked is Tessica getting revenge on that nasty sister of hers.

As for Days, I have been trying to keep up with it but it has been hard. It was interesting at first but for some reason, it’s not that fascinating to me anymore. I’m going to keep watching though because the actor who played Mitch Laurence is on there and I kinda like him. We’ll see if I can get as hooked on Days as I am on OLTL.

Other stuff… tomorrow is the Bachelorette. Get excited. Also, The Closer starts on July 14! Huzzah!!

Ace of Cakes

June 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m watching a few old episodes of Ace of Cakes and I have to say that Duff has the most annoying laugh ever.  They make amazing cakes. If I weren’t poor and didn’t care about cakes, I would want a cake from Charm City Cakes. Too bad I’m poor!

Mary Alice is my favorite on the show. She’s spunky and cool. Too bad Duff’s laugh is so annoying!

Tess’ return

I know I said I wouldn’t post 2 times in a week about OLTL but I can’t help myself. TESS IS BACK. Huzzah! I haven’t been this excited to watch this show in a long long time. Good job Ron Carlivati!

Design Star

June 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have never watched Design Star before this new season that just started last week. Honestly, the only reason I started to watch it is because Patrick seemed a bit intrigued and one of the contestants is from College Station, TX. He’s a super gay guy who likes to butt into everyone else’s problems and start fights. My kind of guy!!

Anyway, the show also has a girl who likes to back stab everyone and act like a douchebag ho. Her name is Tracee and she likes to cry and not take responsibility for any of the crap that she produces. It’s very entertaining but I already want to rip her eyeballs out of her head because she’s so annoying. Honestly, she was in the bottom 2 this weekand deep down in my heart I KNEW that she was going home… but then they sent another dude home. I think they kept her on because it makes for good TV. That really irritates me… but then again, isn’t that what reality TV is all about?

So D. Paul’s show has been cancelled.

Jon and Kate plus 8

June 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m embarrased to admit that I have been watching Jon and Kate plus 8 on TLC. Patrick introduced the show to my aunt Diane and she loved it but I never thought I could stand to watch a couple and their 8 screaming children. Last night I watched like 4 episodes and I think I DVRed 3 more. I’m nearly addicted to it!

I think I enjoy watching the show because it’s a glimpse at what my kids could possibly look like since the guy, Jon, is asian and his wife is white. So maybe my kids would look like that? Maybe? Who knows. It’s weird. It’s embarrasing. It’s what I’ve been watching. Summer really makes for some crappy TV.

The Bachelorette

June 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been watching the Bachelorette while at work since it started this season. I’ve never watched it before and I’ve never watched the Bachelor… so this is very new to me. Anyway, the bachelorette is DeAnna.

She’s a southern girl who seems pretty nice. It’s getting down to the end now and this episode had 4 guys left: Jason (dude with kid), Graham (basketball player/douchebag), Jeremy (complete donkey ass), and Jesse (awesome snowboarder). Anyway, I don’t like Graham because he thinks he has it all because he’s “hot” and I can’t stand Jeremy because he acts like he’s perfect and it’s just annoying. Graham went home today. YAY! The last 3 guys now get to go on some Bahamas vacation with DeAnna and have overnight dates. Very interesting… I’m rooting for Jesse and Jason but I guess we’ll see what happens. I would be happy with either of them but I think Jeremy is a front runner. Oh well. Here’s a photo of each guy:

Jesse the snowboarder

Jason the dad

Jeremy the douchebag

One Life to Live

If you didn’t know, Patrick and I watch OLTL together every single day. I DVR the show daily… but not only do I do that, I also read spoilers, chat on forums, and read the live thread every day on my forum. I realize that not everyone has the same obsession with the show as me… but you will all be super lucky and get to read about it anyway.

On the show right now, they are doing lots of really great stuff. Jessica is about to turn into her alter, Tess and burn the world down. Nash’s funeral is this week and goes into next week. I can’t wait to see that. Starr and Cole are about to fight over their baby… and I suspect that this will make Starr run to Todd for help and he will somehow end up with the baby in the end. I’m not too excited about that… but then again maybe Todd will be reinvented or maybe they’ll start writing him a bit better. Don’t get me wrong… Todd is my favorite character of all time on OLTL but he’s been such a huge douchebag lately and I’m starting to get annoyed with him.

Other little things going on that I’m looking forward to are… Lindsay getting the smack down from Nora about the faking of her mental illness, Rex finding out that he is Shane’s father, Sarah going over the waterfall, the big 40th anniversary fun that they are planning with Viki in heaven (omg… Erin Torpey’s return!), and Brody and Rex fighting over Gigi.

Things I’m not particularly enjoying are: Clint and Nora (barf), Natalie and Jared (even more barf), Nigel being a huge hypocrite and liar, Langston and Markko are lame and need a story, Dorian is really really bitchy and f’ing annoying, Addie and David just aren’t doing it for me, Antonio and Talia and John are LAME. Honestly, I’m just sick of the whole cop thing. They are boring and fake. I’m SO tired of John being painted as a saint and thinking that he’s so amazing and straight and as soon as Todd leaves for Nash’s funeral he is going to break into his house. How is it that nobody thinks John is a dirty cop? I hate John. I wish he had died in the car accident. I couldn’t have been more sad when he was the crispy person in the hospital bed.

That’s about all that I have to say about that. There’s lots going on… I’ll be sure to post about it again soon. Maybe I should try and keep this down to once a week with the soaps like I probably will with all the other shows. We shall see!!

Oprah

June 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I just saw last week that Oprah is starting a new season. I believe it started today with some freaky show about irrational fears and overcoming them with hypnosis and stuff. Anyway, it’s weird but I’m watching it now. This lady is apparently horribly scared of dolls. Bizarre.

On a side note… it’s POURING outside and very windy… and of course Patrick is riding his bike home. Haha. I hope he put on his biking pants because he’s going to be SOAKING. At least it’s summertime, right?

Days of our Lives

June 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have recently decided that watching only ONE soap opera is boring. I post on the OLTL forum all the time but I thought I could use some other soap to keep me busy when the forums are lame at OLTL. So I’ve started watching Days. I’ve only been watching it for about a week and it’s hard to get to know all the storylines. Anyway… I originally tried to get into All My Children but it was so awful that I just couldn’t do it. I was fast forwarding through so much that I realized it just wasn’t worth it. I know the AMC characters because of some OLTL crossovers… Well, anyway, that basically explains that.

So I’m watching it right now on the DVR. That’s how I watch all my shows. I watch them either online or I watch them on my DVR. I rarely watch commercials anymore. It’s terrible. I don’t ever know what movies come out! Anyway, another addiction I have is celebrity gossip. Apparently Allison Sweeney (Sami on Days) is preggers and I keep trying to see if she’s showing but she’s wearing this dress that is awkwardly shaped so I can’t tell. I wonder if they are going to play the pregnancy into her storyline or if she is just going to leave for a bit and “take care of it”. Haha!

Well, wish me luck getting into Days. It’s going well so far so I’ll just have to start reading spoilers now to keep me hooked. Spoilers are the shizzle!

Yet another

June 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

I’ve decided to start a new blog (again) but this time it’ll only be about my horrible addiction. I’m ADDICTED to television. I’m addicted to One Life to Live. I’m addicted to pretty much everything on TV. Soaps, reality TV, primetime drama, everything! It’s very sad and probably scary for Patrick… but it’s part of who I am. So I guess he just has to deal with it.

I think I’ll use the blog to post about my tv shows, what I think of them, speculation on what’s going to happen… and I’m going to encourage anyone and everyone to comment and tell me what you think is going to happen on all shows. I would also accept many recommendations on shows that I “should” be watching but I may have looked over. I want to be sure to be up to date on all my pop culture!

So I’m sure you are all wondering what TV shows I watch. Here’s my list in no particular order:

  • One Life to Live (this is my #1. I ADORE it and I will watch it until I die)
  • Days of our Lives
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • Notes from the Underbelly
  • Medium
  • Ugly Betty
  • Law and Order
  • Law and Order: SVU
  • House
  • Criminal Minds
  • Dirty Sexy Money
  • Private Practice
  • Gossip Girl
  • Samantha Who?
  • Women’s Murder Club
  • October Road
  • Monk
  • Cashmere Mafia
  • Lipstick Jungle
  • Life
  • Biggest Loser
  • Property Virgins
  • The Mole
  • The Bachelorette
  • Ace of Cakes
  • Design Star
  • Weeds
  • Secret Diary of a Call Girl
  • My Life on the D-List
  • NCIS
  • CSI: Las Vegas
  • CSI: New York
  • My Boys
  • The Closer

In the fall I plan to watch the following new shows:

  • The Mentalist
  • The Ex List
  • Project Gary
  • Worst Week

I may have missed a few but I’ll update if I remember any of them. Anyway… I know summers are slow so it’s a good way to start. Good thing soap operas are NEVER over! :)
